Rebs Drifter

Post by RebStew on October 14th 2007, 4:40 am

figured I post a pic of my fake Indian, Kaw' Vulcan Drifter. this is when I first got it.

I may hold on to this one for a while but I'm looking for something to cut up and make it more my style.

Until then I've shaved some of the late model stuff off the Z\Drifter. sat the rear plate flush, took off the reflectors, took off the emblems that was on the tank and added a few small things. I'm going to wash it up and give it a wax job before I put it to rest for the winter I will snap some pics before I toss on her winter coat.

I am thinking about selling the Harley since I cant handle long trips but will need one for gas mileage this summer, might see if I can trade it for a late model Triumph Bonneville and some cash. I can handle back and forth to work and errands but after 50 miles I have to get off for awhile.

That's why I sold mine. Short trips around town I'm fine. I can only do that so often. I want to get in the wind. By the time I know I'm hurting I'm miles away from the house.

I have a Triumph America. Been riding Triumphs since '76. Had a little of all except Harley's. Had enough buddies that had 'em I knew I didn't need the aggravation. They've gotten a lot better since the AMF days but I love my thumpers. The Bonnie still has the 360 degree engine. The America and Speedmaster use a 270 degree firing sequence. Lot smoother ride with plenty of torque. Doesn't have the old loping sound that I loved so much though. Just waiting on warmer weather! cheers

Having a bike saved me some money on gas but might have to give up on them and stay with 4 wheels,I was thinking about a touring but dont want to have a bunch of money in a bike I only ride to and from work.
