Shipping

Post by Brownie on September 14th 2013, 3:43 am

Just went to ups to get a price on shipping my old seat to Ca. Just about fell over!
369.00 and that is if I have it boxed up and ready to go.
I called the local greyhound they don't ship. So not sure what I'm going to do.

My local greyhound ships. As long as it fits under the bus, it goes. Shipped a model t coupe quarter panel to Ca from Ky.

It has been setting up over head for a while and this guy from CA was looking for one on another sight so I put a price on it and he went for it $400. But the shipping is almost more than what I was asking for the seat. UPS 369. plus boxing. I know I can box it my self but still that is a lot of money to ship.

I'd work out a meet and greet part way or something. It would be cheaper.

I had told him shipping was on him. But when I told him how much it was going to be. He was singing a different tune. Shocked He was telling me it was only 75. to ship a bumper.  No big deal I think I will just keep it...Wasn't eating anything anyway!Cool

I just sold a core support (65 Galaxie) to a guy in Raleigh, NC. At first he said shipping price wasn't a problem. Till Fed-Ex wanted 189 bucks to ship it with me doping the boxing. He ended up driving up to get it from me.

As a business owner I can tell you that shipping is getting stupid. Two of my suppliers have warehouses in Columbus. It's cheaper for me to drive up and get my stuff then it is to ship on most orders. Plus I get to stop by JEGS

I'm going to put up a tent. Maybe do a little grilling.
Try to relax a little inbetween making lots of trips to the swap meet area & checking out the cars. You got my # if you make it give me a call. I hear you sleeping on the ground is out for me...I wouldn't be able to move the next day! The things we do for your kids.Laughing
