I may have a pair from a Lincoln Versailles. These are the same as the Granada, but have a larger ball joint.

If the bottom one is bigger, it should bolt on. The tie-rod hole will probably need to be reamed though.

Oldman,
Have you checked at Lanes? I bet he has a Granada.

These are only the spindles and I'm pretty sure it's the bottom one that is larger. I can let them go for $75 plus shipping.

Puddin head's are from a Versailles. He tried to pawn 'em off on me as being from a Granada, but they aren't. What a Face

Granada is what I put on my '56. I had to ream the bottom ball joint and the tie rod hole. I bought the reamer on line and did it myself. Worked Fine.

This may be an oversimplification but most any unit body 60's and 70's Ford compact or intermediate with a V8 uses the small ball joint. Mustang, Maverick, Falcon, Torino, Granada, etc..... For some reason Ford choose to make the Versailles ball joint larger. When I converted from four lugs on my '60 Falcon, as on most I've seen done, I just used upper and lower control arms and ball joints, from a V8 '65-'66 Mustang and used the Granada spindles and outer tie rod ends. Had to switch over to a V8 Falcon center link to make it all work. The six cylinder stuff is much smaller and doesn't interchange well with the heavier V8 parts.

It might be the same in a 54 Mercury because 54 is when the Fords went to ball joints. It would make a little sense if 54,55, & 56 were the same.

Well you know that if it's a Lincoln, it must be tons heavier than a Granada. Razz

Not trying to change your mind but a lot of the Ford guys around here use '77-'79 Thunderbird spindles on the mid-fifties Fords. They say the ball joints all work out and I think they use the outer tie rod from the T-bird. You get a bigger brake rotor but I'm not so sure if it will clear a fourteen inch wheel if that is a problem.

There was a '79 T-Bird at Pull A Part and the spindles looked like they would work but I already had mine so I didn't follow up on it.

I used the T-bird brakes on my 65 galaxie and were a bolt on,I did have to use a late 60s galaxie outer tie rod end but it went right on.
